Blonde jokes are a major part of joke culture. They are one of the earliest themed joke sub-cultures to exist in America. A quick look up shows that it is by far the most searched term for jokes ever, with over 10 times the amount of searches for the runner up, "bar jokes." Even on Comic Wonder, as of January 1st, 2009, there are 370 blonde jokes, and only 287 bar jokes.

That is why Comic Wonder is kicking off 2009 with a full two-month long dedication to the blonde joke. Every two months, we will be hosting a party for a specific type of joke, and everyone is invited. With blonde jokes being the most popular, it is fitting we start there.

For January, we are going to be hosting a mini contest looking for the best blonde joke told. Got a good one? Then practice up and share it in the month of January! We'll pick the one we liked best and share it with the community in February.

What makes a good blonde joke? Well, the first ingredient is the blonde voice. It's one of those things that doesn't necessarily make the joke, but it sure can break the joke if you don't have it. Two of the betterblonde joke tellers on the site are Skez63, Captainhilariousness and VoiceofElk because of their great voices. Study them on how they interact with the blone voice. Generally, if you accent your voice with upward inflections, a little bit of ditziness, and colloquialisms reminiscent of the movies "Legally Blonde" or "Clueless", you're on the right track. If the target blonde is a female, then using a higher pitched voice is needed, otherwise if it's a male, then a deep voice is the best inflection.

For the top 10 list, we asked VoiceofElk pick out his favorite 10 blonde jokes. Not only is he a great guy, but we think he's the best blonde joke writer on the site. He gets the second ingredient for solid blonde joke right: A punchline that's obvious, but you didn't see it coming thus making you feel like a blonde yourself. Most blonde jokes prey on supposed stupidity of blondes (men or women), but those are easy to write. What separates the good blonde jokes from the great ones is when the punchline is tricky and not easily figured out.
